Good tent, easy setup

Got the RoofBunk Roamer for a weekend trip. It was pretty straightforward to set up on my SUV. The space inside felt decent for two people. Delivery took about 5 days to reach Denver, which was fine. Overall, a solid experience and I'm happy with it.

Great value for a hard shell

I was looking at several hard shell roof tents and the RoofBunk Hard Shell caught my eye during their seasonal sale. The discount was pretty good, saving me about $150 compared to other brands I was considering. The total cost felt reasonable for what I got, especially with the included mattress. It seems like a smart purchase for the price point, and I'm looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it.

Explorer tent review

I purchased the RoofBunk Explorer a few weeks ago. Ordering online was simple, and the website was easy to navigate. Shipping took just under a week, arriving in good condition. Installation was a bit of a project, but the instructions were clear enough, and I got it mounted on my roof bars without too much trouble. The quality of the tent material seems durable, and I appreciate the included mattress. I also got a Roof Tent Organiser, which was useful for keeping small items tidy inside. Customer support answered a question I had about fitting kits fairly quickly via email. It's a solid tent for the price, and I'm pleased with the overall purchase.

Absolutely love my new tent!

I just received my new RoofBunk Hard Shell tent and I'm so excited to use it! It looks super sturdy and the quality feels really good. Setup was surprisingly quick on my truck. I can't wait for my first camping trip next month. I will definitely be buying more accessories from them and already told my friends about it!

how fast is shipping to like, Ohio? need one for a trip coming up next month.

P Paula Kim 2 months ago

I'm in California and it took about a week and a half for my annex. The tents might take a bit longer though, they're big.

R Renee M. 2 months ago

I think they ship from the UK so it's not super fast. I'd budget at least 2 weeks, maybe even 3 just to be safe for a big item like a tent.

What's the deal with returns if I buy one and it's not what I expected? Heard some places make it super hard for big items.

C Carly 2 months ago

I returned an accessory once, it was pretty straightforward. Just follow their instructions.

Their policy seems decent, I read it before buying. As long as it's unused and you notify them within the timeframe, it should be fine. You'd probably have to pay for return shipping though, which for a tent would be a lot.

Hey, thinking about grabbing one of these hard shell tents. Does it really fit on like, any car? I have a pretty normal sedan, not an SUV or anything.

S Sophie C. 2 months ago

Yeah, they say it does on their site. My buddy has one on his Golf, looks a bit silly but it works.

J Josh 2 months ago

It depends on your roof bars honestly. You need to check the weight limit for your car's roof and also the bars themselves. RoofBunk has some info on that, you might need specific ones for your vehicle.

Anyone compared the RoofBunk Roamer to a TentBox Lite? Price is similar but wonder about quality.

T Tara C. 2 months ago

I looked at both. The Roamer felt a bit sturdier to me, and the mattress in the RoofBunk was definitely more comfy. But TentBox has a bigger community if that matters.

M Marcus Kaur 2 months ago

I have the Roamer and my friend has a TentBox. Honestly, both are pretty good. Main difference for me was the setup speed, I found the Roamer slightly quicker. Materials felt similar quality wise.

is the mattress that comes with the tent actually decent or should I plan on replacing it right away?

J Jared C. 2 months ago

It's surprisingly good! I usually hate tent mattresses but this one was fine for a few nights.

M Megan 2 months ago

Nah, the included mattress is pretty solid. Way better than typical camping pad stuff. I'd try it out before you spend money on an upgrade.
